The Grounded Project ยท Hanoi, Vietnam

Curious minds. Strong foundations. Bright futures.

We support schools, teachers, and families to understand and apply research-based methodologies in the early years — nature-based, child-centred, and grounded in everyday practice.

What we do

Research-informed practice, rooted in real classrooms

The Grounded Project supports schools, teachers, and families to understand and apply research-based methodologies in the classroom and beyond — focusing on the holistic development of children in the early years.

Through teacher training, consulting with schools, and parent and community workshops, we work to uplift practice across Asia toward international standards, while honouring diverse cultures and perspectives.

Our foundations

Four ideas at the root of everything we do

Nature based

Outdoor, natural spaces — like our garden laboratory — where children explore real materials and the rhythms of the natural world.

Child centred

Children are free to explore, problem-solve, and make meaning on their own terms, with adults responding to their lead.

Research informed

Grounded in Reggio Emilia philosophy and current research, translated into practical, everyday approaches.

Supporting children & adults

We help raise happy, capable, adaptable children — while giving the adults around them clarity and confidence.

How we work

Building capacity from the ground up

Lasting change happens through grassroots shifts in mindset — one practitioner, one community at a time. We work alongside schools and families in a few connected ways.

Teacher training

Professional development that sticks

Workshops and ongoing mentoring that help educators move from theory to confident, everyday practice in their own classrooms.

School consulting

Working alongside leadership teams

We partner with schools to review current practice and build realistic, context-appropriate plans for child-responsive environments.

Parent workshops

Bringing families into the conversation

Practical sessions that help parents understand how young children learn, and how to support that learning at home.

Community training

Uplifting practice across the wider community

Community-level training that honours local culture and context while connecting practice to international standards.

Our garden laboratory

A nature-based space where children lead

Our Garden Laboratory is nature-based, child-centred, and respectful — a place where children are free to explore, problem-solve, and make meaning on their own terms.

At the heart of it, we want to help raise happy, capable, and adaptable children, while giving the adults around them the clarity and confidence to support their full potential.
